Douglas
F. Savage, M.D. received his Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion
University in Norfolk, Virginia, from which he graduated Summa Cum
Laude. He received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical
School, also in Norfolk, and did his surgical internship at Wilford
Hall USAF Medical Center at Lackland AFB in Texas. Following his internship,
Dr. Savage joined the University of Florida's Department of Neurosurgery
as a Research Fellow. He also performed his neurological surgery residency
there.
He resumed his military career again at Wilford Hall USAF Medical
Center as Assistant Chairman of the center's Department of Neurosurgery.
In 1992, Dr. Savage joined Southwest Florida Neurosurgical Associates
at The Sypert Institute.
Dr. Savage is Board Certified by the American Board of Neurological
Surgery and is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
He is a member of the Lee County Medical Society, the Florida Medical
Association, the American Medical Association, the Congress of Neurological
Surgeons, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the
Florida Neurosurgical Society and the North American Spine Society.
During his career, Dr. Savage has made numerous presentations and
contributed to publications concerning various aspects of neurological
surgery.

Gary
J. Correnti, M.D. received both his bachelor's and medical degree
from the University of Pennsylvania. He performed his general surgery
internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He did
his neurosurgical residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
in Philadelphia.
While in Philadelphia, Dr. Correnti served as Resident Representative
to the Operating Room Committee and was later Co-Chairman of the
Housestaff Committee and Resident Representative to the Medical
Board. He was in private practice in Pittsburgh for one year at
Allegheny General Hospital prior to joining Southwest Florida Neurosurgical
Associates in 1995.
Dr. Correnti is Board Certified by the American Board of Neurological
Surgeons. He is a member of the Lee County Medical Society, the
Florida Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the
Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of
Neurological Surgeons.
His scope of practice includes cervical and lumbar spine surgery,
ranging from decompressive microsurgery to complex spinal instrumentation,
and intracranial microsurgery, including treatment for brain tumors,
vascular disorders and trauma.

Donald
J. Moyer, M.D., a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Notre
Dame in Indiana, received his medical degree from Chicago's Northwestern
University.He performed his general surgery internship at the Hospital
of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia where he also did
his residency in neurosurgery. Following his residency training, Dr.
Moyer did his fellowship in Neuro-oncology at the Children's Hospital
of Philadelphia.
While at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Moyer
served as Assistant Instructor of Neurosurgery, later rising to
Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery in the hospital's Department
of Neurosurgery. His research activities involved the investigation
of gene expression in an ischemic brain. Dr. Moyer joined Southwest
Florida Neurosurgical Associates in 1998.
Dr. Moyer is Board Certified by the American Board of Neurological
Surgeons and is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
He is a member of the Lee County Medical Society, the American Medical
Association, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons,
the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the American College
of Surgeons.
Dr. Moyer is the author of numerous scientific research papers,
abstracts and presentations dealing with a variety of neurosurgical
treatments.

Jaime
A. Alvarez, M.D. received both a chemistry and biology degree from
the University of South Florida in Tampa where he made the Dean's
List every year of his college career.He earned his medical degree
from the State University of New York College of Medicine in Syracuse,
New York. While there, Dr. Alvarez received the McGraw-Hill Award
for high class ranking and was a National Deans List nominee.
Following medical school, Dr. Alvarez did his general surgery internship
at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he
also performed his neurological surgery residency.
Dr. Alvarez, Board Certified by the American Board of Neurological
Surgeons, joined Southwest Florida Neurosurgical Associates in 1999.
He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons,
the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the North American Spine
Society.
Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Alvarez has written numerous
abstracts and research papers in the treatment of various brain
and nervous system disorders.
His special interests at Southwest Florida Neurosurgical Associates
include the treatment of brain tumors, cerebral aneurysms, trauma
to both the brain and spine, pediatric neurosurgery, spinal instrumentation
and surgery for Parkinson's disease and trigeminal neuralgia.

Wesley
H. Faunce, III, M.D. is a graduate of the University of Connecticut
where he excelled in athletic competition. Heading south, he received
his Ph.D. from the University of Florida's Department of Biochemistry
and Molecular Biology, where he also completed his post-doctoral
fellowship research.
Continuing at Florida, Dr. Faunce earned his medical degree at
the College of Medicine and was awarded a Medical Student Research
Fellowship. He did his medical internship at the university's Department
of Surgery and his residency training at the Department of Neurosurgery.
While at the University of Florida, Dr. Faunce was active in a
variety of medically-related endeavors, including serving as Resident
Delegate to the Council of State Neurosurgical Societies. Dr. Faunce
also served as president of the University of Florida's AMA Medical
Student Section and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor
Medical Society. His activities and excellence earned Dr. Faunce
the Lyerly Neurosurgery Award.
Currently, Dr. Faunce is a member of the American Association of
Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the
American Medical Association and the Florida Medical Association.
Dr. Faunce has been involved in a variety of medical research studies
and is an accomplished author or co-author of numerous studies,
publications and presentations.

John S. Sarzier, M.D. received his Bachelor of Science degree
from the University of Florida where he majored in zoology. He
received his medical degree from the University of South Florida
College of Medicine where he also served his general surgery and
neurological surgery training. Dr. Sarzier did his fellowship
in interventional neuroradiology at the University of South Florida.
During his education, Dr. Sarzier received advanced training in
the endovascular treatment of vascular problems of the brain, making
him one of the few neurological surgeons in Florida with such unique
non-surgical skills. He also has advanced training in complex
spine surgery.
While in medical school, Dr. Sarzier was selected to became a
member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the national honorary medical society. He also
was the recipient of the Ambrose Pare Award from the Florida Chapter
of the American College of Surgeons. He also was recognized by the Honors
Surgical Course and received the Award of Excellence from the
Florida Infectious Disease Society.
Following his training, Dr. Sarzier worked several years in private
neurosurgery practice in North Carolina. He is Board Eligible
by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and is a Diplomate of
the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Currently, Dr. Sarzier is a member of the American Association
of Neurological Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, the Congress
of Neurological Surgeons and the American Medical Association.
During his career, Dr. Sarzier has been involved in numerous medical
presentations and contributed scientific research to publications
of medical, radiological and neurological surgery interest.
